Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Hybrid)

A career helping others may be closer than you think.

In our accelerated bachelor of science in nursing program at Loyola University New Orleans, you can apply previous academic experience to earn your degree in just 17 months. This hybrid program offers synchronous learning, and guaranteed clinical placements with our healthcare partners.

You’re a great candidate for this program if:

  • You have already earned your bachelor’s (or higher) degree in a field other than nursing
  • You have completed the required prerequisites prior to starting the program (see below)
  • You’re committed to an accelerated full-time course and study schedule
  • You can complete clinical work in the Greater New Orleans area

Nurses are in high demand.

Answer the call to serve your community.

In our accelerated pre-licensure program, you’ll be immersed in evidence-based clinical work and hands-on learning to prepare you to work in today’s complex healthcare system. Build on your existing bachelor’s degree by completing a focused plan of study learning under the supervision of clinical practitioners and faculty who are subject matter experts.

Here are some of the benefits of Loyola’s accelerated BSN program:

  • Benefit from guaranteed clinical placements with our local healthcare partners.
  • Join a cohort of dedicated peers for a more immersive experience. Loyola provides a 1:10 or less faculty to student ratio for clinical work.
  • Combine synchronous online learning with clinicals and simulations to put your new knowledge into practice under the supervision of experienced clinicians.
  • Earn your BSN in just 17 months with a curriculum designed to prepare students for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX).

Accelerated B.S.N. Program Requirements

The accelerated bachelor’s degree in nursing program is a 53-credit program completed over four successive semesters, including enrollment in the summer. This full-time accelerated program requires a significant time commitment from students. We do not recommend working full-time while enrolled in the ABSN program.

A bachelor’s degree is the minimum requirement for entry into the ABSN program. Students will not be eligible to receive credit for individual courses in the previous bachelor’s degree, only the completed degree. In order to prepare for the program, students must show proof of successful completion of pre-nursing required coursework.
